Women's Health

WCHC is available to see you for routine gynecologic care, including well woman visits. Well woman visits should start beginning at 18 years of age, or within three years of becoming sexually active.

Women's Health Services

We know that well woman visits can cause some anxiety and discomfort.  Our providers will do our very best to explain every step of the process and to go the extra mile to make you comfortable. Our providers want to partner in your care by building healthy and trusting relationships so you feel comfortable and safe to openly share your questions and concerns about your health.

Family Planning Services

Title X and Medicaid Family Planning Program

WCHC is a Title X funded health center, which means we receive federal support specifically to provide family planning and reproductive health services to anyone who needs them — regardless of income, insurance status, or age.

WCHC is also able to care for patients who qualify for the Medicaid Family Planning Program (MFPP). This program offers an income-based, limited benefits plan for those who are not eligible for “full” Medicaid.

What does that mean for you?

It means that cost should never be a barrier to getting the reproductive health care you need. Services are available on a sliding fee scale based on your income, and some services may be available at no cost.

Title X and MFPP programs do not include pregnancy termination services.

Family Planning Services at WCHC Include:

  • Birth control counseling and a full range of contraceptive options

  • Pregnancy testing and counseling

  • STI (sexually transmitted infection) testing and treatment

  • Breast and cervical cancer screenings

  • Preconception health counseling for those planning a pregnancy

  • Reproductive health education and support

  • Post-partum care and support

Cervical Cancer Screenings

Our providers also offer a cervical cancer screening service known as a Pap smear. The American Cancer Society recommends that women ages 21-65 get a Pap smear every three years.
