Women’s Health
WCHC is available to see you for routine gynecologic care, including well woman visits. Well woman visits should start beginning at 18 years of age, or within three years of becoming sexually active.
We know that well woman visits can cause some anxiety and discomfort. Our providers will do our very best to explain every step of the process and to go the extra mile to make you comfortable.
Well woman visits typically include a pelvic and breast exam. Breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed among women in the United States, and is the second leading cause of death among women after lung cancer. WCHC Providers are able to discuss and recommend appropriate breast cancer screening, as well as evaluate any breast concerns.
You can expect to discuss your menstrual period, sexual activities, and contraception at your visit. WCHC Providers can also help with post-menopausal changes and discomfort (for example, mood changes, “hot flashes”, or pain with sexual activity), as well as any post-menopausal vaginal bleeding.
Our providers also offer a cervical cancer screening service known as a Pap smear. The American Cancer Society recommends that women ages 21-65 years of age get a Pap smear every three years.
Our providers want to partner in your care by building healthy and trusting relationships so you feel comfortable and safe to openly share your questions and concerns about your health.
Call the office at 410-378-9696 to schedule your well woman visit today.
